Q. I left federal government with 17.5 years in service under FERS in 2005. I had approximately 1,000 hours of sick leave when I left service. I turned 56 in August and am considering applying for a deferred annuity. Am I eligible to receive any of my sick leave as credit to my years in service?

A. No.
